About Me

I’m a former journalist, raised bi-culturally by a Portuguese immigrant family in New England. After publishing my first poem at age twelve, I earned a degree in journalism at Emerson College, and continued as a reporter in Boston before moving to Los Angeles for a career in web design.

My first novel, CURSED VINES, will be published in 2017 by Snowleopard Publishing. It’s a young adult international thriller that explores Portuguese pagan folklore in a fast-paced coming-of-age journey through the historical cities of Lisbon and Porto.

UX/UI Designer

As an award-winning UI/UX designer in Los Angeles for over 17 years, I’ve created intuitive user interfaces on landing pages, checkout and account flows, responsive websites, prototypes, and mobile/tablet apps for large clients such as TOMS Shoes, American Apparel, and The Capital Group.

I care about the user first and use best practices, heuristics, and user testing as the basis of all my designs, my writing background to detail these interactions, and my tech savvy to work Agile with developers to solve complex problems with simple, beautiful interfaces.

I am also both a citizen of the United States and the European Union, and am legal to work in both.

Graphic Designer

After designing my own wedding invitation suite and photo book, and later birthday decorations for my children, I realized I have a knack for designing DIY party printables. Plus, it’s a whole lot of fun!

In 2017, I opened my own Etsy shop, where I sell a selection of printable wedding and kids invitations and thank you cards, as well as competitive WordPress website packages. Take a look at my collection, whether to purchase or to view more of my recent graphic design work.

The medium is the message, according to Marshall McLuhan, but mediums are morphing and the growing population demands to digest information on their own time and on their preferred device.
Listed below are just a few of my strongest skills, but my strongest of all is the passion to learn and grow with the fast-paced, ever-evolving information consumption age in which we live.

Everyone loves a little praise. Here are some mentions in the press of my work throughout the years.
